PURPOSE: To produce a deodorant handily in a short time by a method wherein a culture medium containing a substrate as edible botanical seed material, a fat extracted residue thereof, a mixture thereof or a mixture obtained by adding carbohydrate to the substance is used to obtain a culture containing mold and then, the culture is extracted by an organic solvent to obtain a deodorant.
CONSTITUTION: Mold is cultured using a culture medium containing a substrate which the mold can utilize to obtain a culture, which is extracted by an organic solvent to produce a deodorant. Here, the substrate employs at least one selected from the group of edible botanical seed material and a fat-extracted residue thereof or a mixture by adding carbohydrate thereto. The period of cultivation is one to seven days. The mold herein used is Aspergillus or those of Rhisopus. The deodorant thus obtained is excellent in deodorizing effect, preservability and stability to heat. Moreover, action of the deodorant itself is limited to odor and an object to be deodorized and the product can be manufactured handily in a short time.
