PURPOSE: To control a generator so as to easily generate a complex conjugate signal by varying the gain of a gain variable device to any of two generated signals in the relation of complex conjugate and changing its imaginary part or real part while keeping the relation of the complex conjugate.
CONSTITUTION: The generator is provided with a power distributer 1 distributing an input signal to two output terminals, a gain variable device 3 controlling the amplitude of a signal outputted to one of the output terminals of the power distributer 1, and a 90° hybrid power synthesizer 4 having two input terminals and the two output terminals. The one input terminal of the power synthesizer 4 and the output terminal of the gain variable device 3 are connected in the complex conjugate signal generator and the distributer 1 and the synthesizer 4 are connected so that the difference from the electric length between the other output terminal of the distributer 1 and the two input terminals of the synthesizer 4 is 0 or 180°. Furthermore, a 90 or 270° phase shifter 6 is connected to any of the two output terminals of the synthesizer 4. Thus, the generator is controlled to easily generate a complex conjugate signal.
