Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve a high temperature characteristic by high density charging with nickel hydroxide, serving as a positive plate active material for an alkaline storage battery, and by preventing resolution of water from being easily generated at the time of charge.

CONSTITUTION: In a pasted positive plate formed by applying a paste-state active material, mainly composed of nickel hydroxide, to a conductive core material, the nickel hydroxide of active material is constituted of plate-shaped monocrystal of hexagonal system and an aggregate of structure of laminating a plurality of the active materials in a thickness (C axis) direction in a 0.005 to 0.1 micron range in a direction of a major diameter 1 and in a 0.001 to 0.1 micron range in a direction of thickness R (C axis), and at least one kind of a group, consisting of Cd, Ca, Zn, Mg, Al, Co, Mg, is provided as a solid solution in a 1 to 10wt.% range.
