PURPOSE: To obtain various kind of drink and foods, etc., containing calcium pectate capable of exhibiting bone strength enhancing action by eating.

CONSTITUTION: Calcium pectate having bone strength enhancing action and obtained by adding a solution of calcium compound such as calcium chloride, calcium lactate or calcium acetate to a solution of pectins such as low methoxylated pectin or low amidated pectin and then washing the resultant gel with water and drying the gel is added to various kinds of drink and food in wide range, e.g. cake, edible meat, fish meat kneaded product, paste, seasoning, feed and medicines to provide the various kinds of drink and foods containing calcium pectate.
