PURPOSE: To enable a lateral push type accelerator pedal to be controlled by means of sliding of a brake pedal laterally with a foot left on the brake pedal so as to increase the quickness of operational control by disposing the accelerator pedal just above and in proximity to the brake pedal, and energizing the accelerator pedal toward the brake pedal.

CONSTITUTION: A lateral push type accelerator pedal 11 is disposed just above and in proximity to a brake pedal 10 and is energized toward the brake pedal 10. The accelerator pedal 11 can thus be controlled using an accelerator pushing mechanism by twisting a control foot laterally with the heel serving as a fulcrum, and it is unnecessary to shift the foot from the brake pedal 10; i.e., the control foot is shifted in the lateral parallel direction with the heel as an axis, and in order to control this lateral pushing force, the knee is put in an outward opening movement and the driver can maintain an easy position when driving for a long time.
