Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obviate the dressing of electrode chip and to remarkably reduce exchange frequency of the electrode chip by advancing and moving a couple of slender bar-shaped electrode chips mutually by holders to energize those electrode chips white cooling the chips by cooling water. CONSTITUTION:The holders 15 moved properly with respect to tabular works superposed on each other based on operation of a robot are oscillated respectively based on operation of an air cylinder and the couple of slender bar-shaped electrode chips 14 are advanced and moved mutually and the tabular works are sandwiched mutually by those electrode chips 14 and those electrode chips 14 are energized while being cooled by cooling water and those works are joined mutually by spot welding. When the electrode chips 14 are worn away to a certain extent, each knock type delivery mechanism 17 whose push button 21 is pushed by an electrode length correcting device further projects each electrode chip 14 by the proper quantity from the holder 15 to make it in a protruded state by the specified quantity.
