PURPOSE: To perpendicularly correct the magnetic field from a magnetic head on a magneto-optical recording layer of the layer structure of the magneto- optical disk used for a magneto-optical disk drive device arranging an optical head and the magnetic head on the same side and to prevent the warpage of the disk.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic and optical head arranging side of a substrate 6 is provided with a magneto-optical recording layer 5 and a protective layer 4 and the opposite side of the substrate is provided with a high-magnetic permeability layer 4 and a protective layer 1. The distance between the magnetic head and the magneto-optical recording layer is shortened and, therefore, sufficient magnetic fields are obtainable on the recording layer if this disk is used for the magneto-optical disk drive device arranging the optical head and the magnetic head on the same side. The high-magnetic permeability layer is disposed on the side opposite to the side where the magnetic head is arranged with respect to the magneto-optical recording layer 5 and, therefore, the magnetic fields from the magnetic head are perpendicularly corrected on the magneto-optical recording layer at this time. Further, the warpage of the disk by the stress of the film layers in prevented.
