PURPOSE: To obtain the document image picking-up and filing device in which graphic/character information is saved quickly, simply and economically.
CONSTITUTION: A photosensor 7 senses it that a document 10 being an image pickup object is placed on a document placing plate 10. A controller 3 energizes a lighting control power supply 4 in response to a sensing signal from the photosensor 7 to light a lighting lamp 5. A video camera 1 picks up the image of a content of the document 10 being the image pickup object. The controller 3 outputs a recording instruction to a frame video recording reproducing device 2 to allow the device 2 to record the result of image pickup by the video camera 1 onto a video tape. Then the controller 3 deenergizes the lighting control power supply 4 to extinguish the lighting lamp 5. The lighting of the lighting lamp 5 indicates a state that the content of the document 10 being the image pickup object is picked up and recorded on the video tape and the extinguishing state of the lighting lamp 5 depicts the end of the processing above. Contents of documents of nearly 160,000 sheets can be recorded on a 90-min, recording video tape as image data.
