Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a composition useful for arresting the progression of and inducing remission of adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma, which is comprised of rapamycin and pharmaceutical carriers and has the ability to inhibit proliferation of HTLV-1 transformation T-cell.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is comprised of an antiproliferative amount of rapamycin and pharmaceutical carriers. Parenteral daily dose of rapamycin is preferably 0.1 μg/kg-2 mg/kg, and oral daily dose is preferably 0.01-10 mg/kg. Calcium phosphate, magnesium stearate, etc., are used preferably as solid carrier and water, alcohol, etc., are used preferably as liquid carrier. When the composition is given parenterally, it will preferably be administrated intravenously.
