CONSTITUTION: In a shock absorber for automobile door closing time, a touch switch 39 (sensor) is arranged on a side sill 14 so as to output a detecting signal by detecting the movement of a movable body 35 when the movable body 35 is moved by a prescribed range in the direction for separating from a car interior side surface 21a of a door body 21 against energizing force of a spring 37 by bringing bumper rubber 36 into contact with the door body 21 by closing operation of the door body 21, and an automatic amplifier 41 (control means) is arranged to move and control the movable body 35 forcibly to the car interior side surface 21a side by actuating a coil 38 according to the detecting signal from the touch switch 39.
