PURPOSE: To obtain a water cooler in which reliability of a refrigerating cycle is improved by eliminating a labor and a time of leaving to stand for necessary to lower a temperature from a high temperature state to the ambient temperature and basically allowing to pour water to be cooled of a high temperature state in a chilled water tank.

CONSTITUTION: The water cooler comprises a hot water closing switch 6 of means for selecting whether water to be cooled to be poured in a cold water tank 11 is a high temperature or not, a pressure sensor 21 of pressure sensing means for sensing a condensing pressure of a condenser 19 if pouring of high temperature water is selected, and a controller of control means for controlling the speed of a fan motor of a blower 20 in response to the sensed result of the sensor 21 to lower the condensing pressure of the condenser.
