Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a mercury sealing method by which auxiliary amalgam can be used even in the case of an amalgam type discharge lamp using a dispenser.
CONSTITUTION: In a mercury sealing method for a discharge lamp, where a fixed amount of mercury is sealed in a bulb by means of a dispenser 6, and a metal (the amalgam metal) 8, which forms an amalgam with the mercury, is arranged in the vicinity of the dispenser 6, the mercury is released from the dispenser 6 by lighting the discharge lamp through an induction field.
