PURPOSE: To achieve a reduction in the diameter of a tip part and easier determination of the position of a treating device by bending a channel for inserting the treating device therethrough.

CONSTITUTION: In an electronic endoscope 1 having a bending part 13 linked to a hard part 12, a stainless pipe 25 as a channel for inserting a treating device arranged within the hard part 12 is bent so that the side of the bending part 13 (rear end part) shifts to the center of the endoscope, not to the halfway part of the hard part 12 thereby achieving a small diameter. The stainless pipe 25 is bent so that the tip side of the bending part 13 shifts to an observation window 1 arranged in the endoscope, not to the halfway part of the hard part 12. This enables early checking of the treating device.
