Title:
MATERIAL FOR CARBON DIOXIDE SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0611473
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance the sensitivity by using In2O3 as an effective component, and adding thereto a specific substance or substances.

CONSTITUTION: In2O3 is used as material to a CO2 sensor. To In2O3, at least one of CaO, SrO, BaO, La2O3 is preferably added as a sensitivity increasing agent in an amount between 0.2-20wt.%, or the most favorably 1-3wt.%, relative to 100wt.% In2O3. With this sensor material, electrodes, preferably in a pair, are connected so as to sense the resistance value, for example upon heating at 200-450°C using a heater. When additives are to be added, they are dissolved to form an aqueous solution of nitrate or acetate, with which the In2O3 sensor after being baked is impregnated, and the sensor is baked in the air at 500°C for 5hr, and the additives are pyrolyzed into oxides.
