Abstract:
PURPOSE:To remarkably increase the dynamic range of a final bit transfer part by making the transition time of the potential of the final bit transfer part to an accumulated state in a transfer register part faster than the transition time of the potential of a preceding bit transfer part to a transfer state. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 3 on every other transfer parts 41, 43... and electrodes 3 on every other transfer parts 42, 44... are connected in common, terminals t1, t2 are drawn and a reading gate 6 is connected to the succeeding stage of the final bit transfer part 41 through an insulating film. A serial resistor RS1 is inserted between the intermediate point of common connection of the electrodes 3 in the transfer part 41 and the intermediate point of common connection of the transfer parts 43, 45..., a clock voltage phiH1 is impressed and a clock phiH2 is impressed also to a terminal t2 similarly through a resistor RS2. Clocks phi'H1, phi'H2 whose rise and fall are delayed from signals phiH1, phiH2 are generated by the resistors RS1, RS2, so that the potential of the final bit transfer part 41 is quickly transitted to accumulation and signal charge does not flow out through the gate 6. Thus, the dynamic range can be increased without expanding the length and width of a channel in the transfer part 41.
