PURPOSE: To prevent a stimulable phosphor from deteriorating and to improve setting performance, moisture resistance, and durability by forming an air vent for a sealed space in a protection layer body and/or support, and then sealing the air vent after the panel is dried.
CONSTITUTION: A stimulable layer 1 is formed on the protection layer body 2 and/or support 3 and then a spacer 5 is provided between the support 3 and protection layer body 2 while surrounding the stimulable layer 1. Then the air vent 6 is at least one position of the protection layer body 2 and/or support 3 where stimulated light is read out of the stimulable layer 1 without any trouble. Further, the moisture permeability of the spacer 5 and the contact parts between the spacer 5, and support 3 and protection layer body 2 is determined so that the stimulable layer 1 does not deteriorate with external entering water. The air vent 6 is sealed with a sealing member 7 immediately after the panel is heated and dried. Thus, the stimulable layer 1 from which water is removed is held dry to guarantee the setting performance of the panel.
