Title:
NAVIGATION APPARATUS EQUIPPED WITH GYRO SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09152337
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a navigation apparatus by which an azimuth error due to the offset correction of a gyro sensor is suppressed.

An offset correction means 11 corrects an offset in the output of a gyro sensor 1. An offset correction value is obtained under a definite condition such as a condition under which a vehicle is stopped, and a preliminary correction value is stored in a storage means 12. The time elapsed since a preliminary offset correction is clocked by a clocking means 13. When the offset correction means 11 performs a next offset correction, the difference between a new offset correction value and the offset correction value which is stored in the storage means 12 is computed by an azimuth correction means 14, it is multiplied by the time elaped which is clocked by the clocking means 13, and an azimuth which is displayed by the gyro sensor 1 is corrected according to a multiplied result. Since the azimuth is corrected together with the offset correction, it is possible to prevent an azimuth error due to the offset correction from being accumulated.
