To obtain a navigation apparatus by which a present position and the state of a satellite on a rub route can be grasped by a method wherein the state of a GPS signal received from the satellite is confirmed and the present position of a vehicle and information on a ruining track are displayed on a screen.
A GPS-information reception part 1 receives, through an antenna AT, ratio waved from a plurality of artificial satellites belonging to a GPS so as to compute the pseudo coordinate value of a present position. A sensor-information reception part 2 senses the angle of rotation and the speed of a vehicle by a gyro sensor and a speed sensor. A present-position computing part 3 comports a present pseudo position at the speed of rotation and the speed which are transmitted from the recepction part 2, and it selects one out of the pseudo coordinate value of the present position from the reception part 1 and the computed pseudo position. The computing part 3 computes not only the present position but also ringing information po a speed, an advance direction or the like so as to be transmitted to a system control part 5. The control part 5 reads map data from a map-information storage part 4 on the basis of the running information from the computing part 3 so as to be displayed on a display part 6.
