To provide an appropriate guidance while a vehicle is running on such a road to permit mutual approaches to a special lane without exit to another road and a general lane with an exit to another road, only in a predetermined permission point.
Relative information of HOV is added to a part of internal node information which is maintained hitherto. The relative information of HOV is acquired from node information of all nodes within the guidance running range of a road (S110); and the total number of approach permission points is calculated from the acquired relative information of HOV (S120) and it is determined whether HOV guidance is available (S130). If it is affirmative, it is determined whether the distance between a current position and an intermediate approach permission point is in the range of a distance appropriate for approach guidance to a car pool lane (S140, S150). If it is Yes, since the distance between the current position and the intermediate approach permission point can be considered as being sufficient, approach guidance to the car pool lane is performed (S160).
