The navigation system comprises the portable apparatus and a HMD. In the navigation system, the portable apparatus and the program for the portable apparatus, the portable apparatus comprises means for acquiring place information of the portable apparatus, means for acquiring first direction information which indicates a direction of the portable apparatus, display means for displaying the map information for the portable apparatus with respect to the portable apparatus based on the place information and the first direction information, means for receiving second direction information of the HMD, and map information processing means for transmitting the map information for the HMD with respect to the HMD to the HMD based on the place information and the second direction information, and the HMD comprises means for acquiring the second direction information which indicates a direction of the HMD, means for transmitting the second direction information to the portable apparatus, and means for receiving and displaying the map information for the HMD from the portable apparatus.
