Abstract:
PURPOSE:To inform the direction of advance of a moving body automatically without increasing a storage capacity of a memory device, by judging the presence of an intersection in the direction of advance of the moving body on the basis of the present position and map data. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic processing element 3 constituted by a microcomputer controls peripheral circuits 5-7, 9 and 11-13 on the basis of the result of detection sent from a detecting device 2 of its own. In the processing element 3, according to this constitution, a judging means judges whether there is an intersection (shown by points A and B) in the direction of advance of a moving body, on the basis of the present position and map data, and when it is determined that there is the intersection, a detecting means detects a direction U to be taken by the moving body for advance, on the basis of the direction V of advance of the moving body, etc. and the direction of the destination X. Then, an informing means informs visibly or audibly the direction detected by the detecting means. Accordingly, the moving body starting to move from a point P, for instance, goes straight through an intersection C1 on the basis of an arrow indication or a voice report. Thereafter it turns to the right, turns to the left, goes straight through, turns to the left at points C2, C3, C4 and C5 respectively and goes straight through a point C6, thus arriving at the destination X.
