Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the work efficiency and decrease casting defects by pinching the upper end of a lattice body made of metal other than lead or lead alloy with a horse shoe type current collecting lug piece made of lead or lead alloy and pressure-molding it to form a current collecting lug section.

CONSTITUTION: A lattice body 1 applied with a cover made of lead or lead alloy layer to prevent corrosion by a sulfuric acid electrolyte on a mesh made of metal with the electric resistance lower than that of lead or lead alloy and large mechanical strength, e.g., copper, or an expand-processed mesh is pinched at its upper end by the groove 3 of a horse shoe type current collecting lug piece 2A made of lead or lead alloy. It is pressure-molded, a low-melting point solder alloy layer is melted by a means such as the external heating or the Joule's heat by the feed of a current to form a current collecting lug section 2. The production efficiency is thereby improved, and the reliability of a product can be increased.
