Title:
NEGATIVE ELECTRODE ZINC-BASED ALLOY POWDER FOR ALKALINE BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3155201
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc-based alloy powder capable of improving suppression of generation of hydrogen gas before and after discharging, as well as the load discharge characteristic when the zinc-based alloy powder is used as a negative electrode active material for an alkaline battery, and contains no harmful material such as mercury, cadmium, or lead.
SOLUTION: The zinc-based alloy powder contains Bi in the range of 0.001-0.5wt.%, Zr in the range of 0.001-0.5wt.%, and Sn in the range of 0.001-0.5wt.%. The zinc-based alloy is preferable to contain oxygen in the range of 0.001-0.08wt.%, have an apparent specific gravity of 1.5-2.4g/cm3, and be heat-treated in the range of 100-400°C under a vacuum or in an atmosphere of inert gas.
