To perform a unitary and integral management of multiple simple network terminals so called, Thin Clients, which are connected to a network, by means of a management device.
An MIB 32 as a management information base is respectively arranged at the side of the terminals T1, and a management application 21 for performing unitary management with respect to the terminals T1 through the use of a network managing protocol is disposed at the side of the management device 2. The MIB 32 comprises an MIB-2 where management information concerning the network is defined and an extension MIB where management information intrinsic to each terminal is defined. Monitoring of a network state, obtaining/setting/changing/resetting of information intrinsic to the terminals, environmental setting of the terminals T1 and reporting of fault occurrence in each terminal or a change in each terminals state, for example, reporting from each terminal 1 to the device 2 are performed as management contents.
