PURPOSE: To automatically perform the management and copying of software by making the contents of a release map stored in a release server representing the attribute of the location of a file, etc., conform to each other.
CONSTITUTION: This system is comprised of servers; a file server 2 which houses work stations 1-1, 1-2 and released software, a communication server 4 which performs communication among different areas in a large scale network, and the release server 7 which manages the software. The distribution release server 7 consists of communication equipment 7A, control equipment 7B, and a memory device 7C. The distribution release server 7 automatically copies the software managed by a neighboring or designated release server by using a release detecting function, the comparison function of the release map, and a copying function.
