PURPOSE: To improve the application efficiency of a neural network by using the same weight element and relative circuit for forward signal conversion and reverse signal conversion and allowing bidirectional conversion through a matrix of synapses.
CONSTITUTION: A terminal A of a switching circuit 68 corresponding to the 1st state of a switching control signal is brought into contact with a terminal B and a terminal C is connected to a terminal E to direct driving circuits 24 to 28, 40. Thereby an input signal impressed to the terminal A is forward processed through the terminal B, a synapse 34, the terminals C, E, a cumulative node 36, and a sigmoid 38 and the processed signal is outputted to the driving circuit 40. In the 2nd state of the switching control signal, the circuits 24 to 28, 40 are directed, the terminal A of the circuit 68 is connected to the terminal C and the terminal D is connected to the terminal B. Thereby a signal received from the circuit 40 is reversely converted through a reverse sigmoid 50 and outputted to the circuit 28.
