Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain antibiotic NK170,204A and NK170,204B useful as antibacterial agents, antifungal agents, carcinostatic agents and insecticides.

CONSTITUTION: An antibiotic NK170,204A or NK170,204B of formula I (R is group of formula II or formula III). The compound of formula I is obtained by culturing a bacterium (Streptomyces sp. NK170,204A FERM P-13,208) belonging to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing antibiotic NK170,204A or NK170,204B in a nutritive medium, forming and accumulating the antibiotic NK170,204A or NK170,204B and collecting the antibiotic from the culture mixture.
