Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new benzene derivative having an extremely strong insecticidal activity against Hemiptera insect pests such as Nilaparvata lugens or Nephotettix cincticeps and useful for insecticides.
CONSTITUTION: The benzene derivative of formula I (R1 is H, amino, cyano, hydroxymethyl, etc.; R2 is 3,3-dimethylbuty, 3,3-dimethyl-1-butenyl, 3,3-dimethyl-1- butynyl, etc.; X is H, F, but X and R1 are simultaneously not H). For example, 5-(3,3-dimethylbutyl)-2-fluorovenzonitrile. The compound of formula I is obtained e.g. by reacting a compound of formula II (R5 is cyano, etc.; Z is halogen) with neopentylmagnesium bromide at an arbitrary temperature of -75°C to the refluxing temperature with stirring, and subsequently hydrolyzing the obtained compound of formula III.
