Abstract:

To provide a butene-1 (co)polymer which is characterized by a medium/narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD), while can surprisingly couple suitable mechanical properties and long-term pressure resistance.

A butene-1 homopolymer, or a copolymer containing up to 20 wt.% of an α-olefin having 2-10 carbon atoms other than butene-1 is characterized by the following properties: (i) the molecular weight distribution (MWD) in terms of Mw/Mn, measured by GPC analysis is lower than 6; and (ii) the melt strength (measured according to the method specified below) is higher than 2.8.
