Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide new compounds exhibiting remarkable platelet anti- aggregation properties and useful for the diseases accompanied by platelet aggregation processes.
CONSTITUTION: New compounds are represented by formula I [wherein A is a divalent 2-10C hydrocarbon; R is a halogen, -OR' (wherein R' is H or 1-6C alkyl), -COOR',-P(O)(OR')2, -CH=N-OR', imidazolyl, tetrazolyl or the like; R1 and R2 are each H or R1 and R2 together form a bond; R3 is H or 2-10C alkyl; R4 is a 2-10C hydrocarbon; X is CH or N; Y and Z are each a valence bond or para-phenylenel, e.g. sodium (5Z)-6-[(3Z)-(1-hydroxynon-3-en-1-yl)phenyl]hex-5- enoate. The compound of formula I can be obtained by protecting the aldehyde functional groups of a compound of formula II with methyl orthoformate in an absolute alcohol solution in the presence of an ammonium salt at room temperature to obtain a bisacetal, converting this bisacetal to an acetal aldehyde, reacting the acetal aldehyde with methyl sulfate trimethylsulfonium, and contacting the resulting epoxide with a compound of the formula: H-R5A.
