Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the compound esp. useful as an organic photoconductive compound to be used in electrophotographic sensitive bodies of function separated type.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I [A is a (substituted) aromatic divalent or tetravalent group capable of forming ortho-condensed-pyridone ring; Z is a (substituted) aromatic divalent group; n is 1 or 2) and compound of formula II [B is (substituted) aromatic divalent or tetravalent group capable of forming pericondensed 2-pyridone ring]. The former compound of the formula I can be obtained by reaction of a compound of formula III [A is (substituted) aromatic divalent or tetravalent group capable of forming ortho-condensed five-membered carboxylic anhydride ring) with an o-aminobenzamide compound of formula IV; the latter compound of the formula II can be obtained by reaction of a compound of formula V [B is a (substituted) aromatic tetravalent group capable of forming pericondensed six-membered carboxylic anhydride ring] with the compound of the formula IV.
