Abstract:
To provide a bone differentiation promoter as a new use of MEPE.
The MEPE as a protein containing the same or substantially same amino acid sequence as a specific amino acid sequence has a bone differentiation-promoting action, and is useful as an agent for preventing / treating metabolic bone diseases and metabolic chondropathy. Further, the MEPE, its partial peptide or its salt, a DNA encoding the MEPE or its partial peptide can be used, for example, as a low toxic safe medicine for preventing and / or treating the metabolic bone diseases and metabolic chondropathy.
