To provide a newspaper reading stand which facilitates holding and turning over of thin and large leaves of spread newspaper, allows saving of space so as to easily place the stand beside a table or desk by standing a panel for holding and spreading newspaper vertically or almost vertically, facilitates storage by folding the entire stand compactly, and allows a user to read while sitting on the floor or on a chair.

The newspaper reading stand has a panel surface 2 for spreading the newspaper, and an iron sheet 6 adhered to an upper part of the panel surface so as to fix the newspaper by magnetic force using a magnet button. The panel opens and closes like a double-leaf door, and a turning-over guide 8 is provided in a turning-over part in the center of the newspaper.
