To provide an innovative nipping and cutting tool capable of easily cutting a cut object such as a thick cable by grasping operation of a grasping part by one hand.

This nipping and cutting tool comprises a nipping and cutting part 3 forming cutting edges 3A at facing inner edges of the tips of a pair of nipping half bodies 1 opened or closed, and a gripping part 4 disposed at base ends of the nipping half bodies 1 for nipping and blocking the nipping and cutting part 3. The nipping half bodies 1 have an automatic jorunalling part slide mechanism 6 in which a slide oblong hole 5 is formed in a jorunalling part 2 of one nipping half body 1, a jorunalling part 2 of the other nipping half body 1 is jouralled slidably to adjust an opening angle of the nipping and cutting part 3, the opening angle of the nipping and cutting part 3 can be expanded. When the gripping part 4 is gripped and operated with the opening angle of the nipping and cutting part 3 expanded, this gripping operation automatically slide the jorunalling parts 2 in the direction of narrowing the opening angle of the nipping and cutting part 3.
