A toll collection system in a first embodiment has a main antenna 12 disposed near an entrance of the entrance lane of the toll road, executing wireless communication with a non-contact IC card 6 held up to itself to wirelessly process the non-contact IC card 6; and a relief antenna 14 disposed in a position inside the entrance lane present forward in a vehicle advancing direction ahead of a position of the main antenna 12, executing wireless communication with a non-contact IC card 11 held up to itself to wirelessly process the non-contact IC card 6. The toll collection system also has a main control part 16 off-controls the main antenna 12 and on-controls the relief antenna 14 to make the relief antenna 14 execute a relief process when the wireless processing between the main antenna 12 and the non-contact IC card 6 does not normally end.
