Abstract:
To provide a method and a system relevant thereto for neutralizing aldehydes for the purpose of forming irreversibly neutralized aldehydes which are non-hazardous and do not revert back to toxic aldehydes.
This method and the system relevant thereto for mitigating the problems of releasing the toxicity of aldehydes present in waste streams are provided. This method comprises forming neutralized aldehydes by treating the aldehydes with a basic compound. Use of the basic compound affords an easy, effective and inexpensive solution for disposing of toxic aldehydes prior to emitting them into the environment.
