PURPOSE: To obtain a non-optically rotatory film suitable particularly for a liqquid crystal display by molding a curable resin comps. contg. compd. having plural epoxy groups in the molecule, a photopolymerizable compd. having COOH in the molecule and further other photopolymerizable compd.
CONSTITUTION: A curable resin compsn. contg. a compd. having ≥2 epoxy groups in the molecule, for example, diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A, phenol novolak type epoxy compd., etc., the photopolymerizable compd. expressed by the formula (R1 or CH3, R2, R3 are respectively aliphat., arom., and alicyclicgroup residue, A is an ester bond, m, n are respectively 1W3), a photopolymerizable compd. having COOH such as (meth)acrylic acid, etc. and if necessary other photopolymerizable compd., for example, styrene monomer, etc. is prepd. A reaction accelelator for an epoxy group and COOH group is added to such compsn. and UV rays are irradiated thereto, by which a colorless transparent film is obtd. The film is non-optically rotatory, has high light transmittance, is excellent in chemical and heat resistance, etc. and is suitable for a substrate for a liquid crystal element, etc.
