PURPOSE: To obtain the titled pigment suitable for lotion, cream, etc., free from color separation, by treating an aqueous suspension of fine powder of thin leaf with zinc hydroxide, etc., attaching inorganic pigment of fine particles to the fine powder and then calcining.

CONSTITUTION: (A) Fine powder of thin leaf is suspended in water, (B) the suspension is treated with (i) an aqueous solution zinc salt of an organic acid or inorganic acid and (ii) an aqueous solution of hydroxide or (bi)carbonate of alkali metal or ammonium or urea to attach zinc hydroxide or basic zinc carbonate to the surface of the fine powder of the component A and (C) inorganic pigment is applied to the surface of the fine powder by the use of inorganic pigment of fine particles. Then a solid substance is filtered off, washed with water, dried and calcined to give the aimed pigment.
