PURPOSE: To obtain an electrically active polymer, having high electric conductivity and cyclability and suitable as an electrode material for secondary batteries, etc., by doping a novel copolymer having a specific structural formula with an electron acceptor.
CONSTITUTION: An electrically active polymer, obtained by polycondensing, e.g. a polymer containing a 4,4'-diphenylamine structure expressed by formula I (R1 or 1W20C hydrocarbon residue; n is an integer of ≥2) as recurring units, with an aldehyde (polymer) expressed by formula II (R2 is H or 1W20C hydrocarbon residue) and doping the resultant copolymer expressed by formula III (X is an integer of ≥2) with an electron accepting dopant, such as iodine or arsenic pentafluoride, and excellent as an electrically conductive high polymer.
