Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL: Compounds of formula I, II [R is CH2OH, CH2OC(=O)R3, C(=O)H, COOR4; R1, R3 are each alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenylamino, a phenylalkylamino, R2; R4 is H, alkyl, 2,3-dihydroxypropyl; a is a single bond, double bond] or their salts allowable pharmaceutically.

EXAMPLE: 6(R)-[2-[8(S)-(2,2-Dimethylbutylyloxy)-2(S)-methyl-6- hydroxymethyl-1,2,3,7,8,8a (R)-hexahydronaphthyl-1(S)]-ethyl]-4(R)-3,4,5,6- tetrahydro-2H-pyrane-2-one.

USE: Drags useful useful for treating hypercholesterolemia and hyperlipemia.

PROCESS: For example, a compound of formula V which is one of the compounds of formula I from a compound of formula III through a compound of formula IV.
