NEW MATERIAL:The modified protein complex of formula I R1 is water-soluble polymer residue having a molecular weight of 2,000W10,000; R2 is carbonyl or 4-chloro-triazin-6-yl substituting the H atom of the primary amino group in the protein complex molecule; n is 1W52).
USE: A thrombolytic agent.
PREPARATION: The complex of formula I can be pepared by reacting the compound of forumla II (R2' is carbonylimidazole residue or 4,6-dichloro-s-triazine residue) with a (atreptokinase.acylplasmin) complex in the presence of a buffer solution having a pH of 6W11. The complex has enzymatic activity exhibiting thrombolytic action, and remarkably lowered antigenicity compared with streptokinase and unmodified protein complex. Accordingly, the present complex is extremely useful as a thrombolytic agent having low side effects such as anaphylactic shock.
