PURPOSE: To obtain novel nitrogenous bicyclic derivatives useful for the treatment of arterial hypertension, cardiac insufficiencies and the prevention of relapse of stricture post angioplastic operation.
CONSTITUTION: Compds. of formula I {R2B, R3B are each H, a halogen, an alkyl, an aryl etc.; A1B to A4B are each N, formula II [R4B is R1 (R1 is H, hydroxyl, etc.); R5 (R5 is a 1 to 4C alkylene bivalent group which may be substd. with a halogen, etc., NH, etc.); Y1B-B-Y2B (Y1B is a 5-membered, a 6-membered monocyclic aryl, etc.; B is a simple bond, etc.; identical to Y2B and Y1B or when B is the simple bond, H, a halogen, etc.)]}, and inorg. and org. acids, etc., for example, 4'[(3-butyl-4-quinolinyl)methyl]-(1,1-biphenyl)-2-methyl carboxylate. The compds. of formula I are obtd. by substituting the compd. of formula III (R3B↓', R2B↓', R4B↓' are the same as R3B, R2B, R4B; the reactive optional functional groups are protected by protecting groups; Hal is a halogen) and further bringing the compd. into reaction with the compd. of formula IV (R4B↓''' is the same as R4B↓', etc.), then cyclizing the compd.
