To provide a double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) that can inhibit the expression of STAT6 involved in allergic diseases through Th2 cytokine by RNA interference, and a dsRNA-containing medicinal composition for preventing or treating allergic diseases.
In the double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) molecule that targets at mRNA of STAT6 gene, the dsRNA molecule comprises: (a) one strand is a same sense strand as a sequence having 15-50 continuous bases in STAT6 gene sequence having a specific sequence, and another strand is an antisense strand including a complementary base sequence to the base sequence of the sense strand; or (b) one strand has a sequence in which one or several bases are deleted, substituted, and added in the sequence having 15-50 continuous bases in STAT6 gene sequence having a specific sequence and is a sense strand comprising a sequence that can hybridize to STAT6 gene, and another strand is an antisense strand including a complementary base sequence to the base sequence of the sense strand.
