Japanese Patent JP2001273075
Kind Code:

Abstract:

To provide a number input device that has a row of numerals that makes it possible for a blind or visually handicapped person to input a desired number in a short time.

A row of ten numeral keys 131-130 are grouped into four blocks of 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 0, and are horizontally aligned and spaced at regular intervals. On an operation panel 11A is provided a row of guiding numeral characters 151-150 that protrude from the panel in respective numeral shapes, spaced in groups corresponding to the numeral keys 131-130; and in between the respective groups is provided a protruding or indented separating guide 16. Standard reference protrusions 13a and 15a are added to numeral key 135 and guide character 155, thereby indicating the number 5. A blind or visually handicapped person will be able to locate a desired number in a short time by using the grouped numeral keys 13 and the numeral guide characters 15, verifying the number by the shape of the guide characters 15 and the standard reference protrusions 13a and 15a.
