PURPOSE: To automate the numbering to a flat set composition.
CONSTITUTION: A receiving part holding a plurality of set compositions at every kinds is provided to a palette 10 and a feed element 14 arranges the palette 10 in order to perform numbering processing to discharge the empty palette 10 after processing. A printer 15 is provided on the way of the route of the feed element 14. The printer 15 prints the same discrimination number at every set on the respective compositions 3, 4, 5, 6. Transfer element 16 taking out the compositions 3, 4, 5, 6 having the number printed thereon to the lateral part of the printer 5 from the palette 10 at every kinds to transfer them to a specified position outside the palette 10 is provided. The transfer elements 16 have the suction pads sucking the compositions at the leading ends of the arms thereof provided in a freely rising and falling and advancing and retreating state. The suction pads are connected to a vacuum source. A paper handling element 20 handling the composition 4 being paper pieces is provided in the vicinity of the transfer element 16 in an up-and-down movable manner.
