Title:
OCCUPANT DETECTING SYSTEM AND ANTENNA ELECTRODE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3439999
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant detecting system capable of accurately detecting the sitting state of an occupant even with the slight change of a sitting posture with relatively simple constitution, and to provide antenna electrodes applied to this system.
SOLUTION: The electric field is generated around antenna electrodes 4 (4a-4f) arranged at a seat 1, and information related to an electric current flowing to the antenna electrodes is detected on the basis of this electric field. The sitting state of an occupant on the seat 1 is judged on the basis of the information. The antenna electrodes 4 applied to an occupant detecting system of such constitution are respectively provided with a plurality of protrusions 7 formed to increase electric field intensity in an almost vertical direction from the antenna electrode faces of the protruding parts 7.
