Abstract:
To improve protection performance to an occupant in underride collision.SOLUTION: An occupant protection device 10 raises a hood 80 to a first lift-up position by a lifter 22, in front collision to a person. Therefore, it is possible to protect a person who flops onto the hood 80 in front collision. On the other hand, in underride collision, by the lifter 22, the hood 80 is raised to a second lift-up position higher than the first lift-up position; and therefore, in the underride collision, the hood 80 lifted to the second lift-up position is caused to collide with a collision body C, for suppressing the collision body C from entering a cabin side of a vehicle V by the hood 80. Therefore, it is possible to improve protection performance to an occupant P in underride collision.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
