PURPOSE: To raise the oil-stagnating peformance of an oil fence by suppressing the occurrence of vortex and inverse flows by a method in which a float is extensionally provided in front of an oil fence, and latticed nets are laid between the float and its lower weight and the oil fence and its lower weight.
CONSTITUTION: A small float 2 is extensionally provided in front of an oil fence, and a weight 3 is provided at the lower part of the flat 2. The float 2 is pulled by a rope, and the weight 3 is pulled by a rope 5. A latticed net 6 is laid between the float 2 and the weight 3, and also a latticed net 7 is laid between the bottom of the oil fence and the weight 3. The flow of water in the region surrounded by the oil fence 1 and the nets 6 and 7 is stabilized, an oil-water interface waves are suppressed. The oil-stagnating layer 12 can thus be stabilized and the leakage of oil can be effectively prevented even when encountered with highspeed tidal current.
