To restrict the lowering of the oil content of a bearing body.
A metal fine powder (a material powder) is pressed, molded and sintered to form a porous intermediate 11 as the original form of the bearing body (a molding process). Gas cavities P in the intermediate 11 are impregnated with a lubricant (a first impregnating process). Brushing is applied to an axial end face 12 and an outer periphery face of the intermediate 11 for plastic deformation of a material constituting the peripheries of the gas cavities Po communicating with the surface and then movement thereof to form recessed portions D in the peripheries of the gas cavities Po and gaps between the inner face of the recessed portion D and an interior gas cavity Pi are filled and sealed with the moved material (a sealing process). The intermediate 11 is washed for removing the lubricant from the recessed portions D (a first washing process), and the intermediate 11 is inserted into a correcting metal mold for correction and the shape of the correcting metal mold is transferred thereto to grant desired shaping precision (a correcting process). The fine powder of the material resulting from correction finishing is removed by washing and then impregnation with the lubricant is performed again to obtain the bearing body.
