PURPOSE: To obtain a bearing without the need for lubrication by mixing 85W95 wt% of cast iron staple of asbestos ratio 4W60 obtained by a chattering vibration cutting method with 5W15 wt% of graphite made of solid lubricant and sintering the mixture in the ammonia decomposer gas after forming it under a strong pressure.
CONSTITUTION: 85W95 wt% of cast iron staple of asbestos ratio 4W60 manufactured by a chattering vibration cutting method is mixed with 5W15 wt% of solid lubricant made of graphite so as to produce a matrix material. After forming the mixture under strong pressure within a die, it is sintered in ammonia decomposing gas. Then, the bearing in form of a forming body is a madreporic body with high porosity caused by twined fibers, furthermore, a large amount of the graphite serving as solid lubricant can be dispersed uniformly owing to the mutual connection of voids thus an excellent lubricating effect can also be expected.
